For the idea of the smart city to reach its true potential, the essential element is 5G as it includes traffic monitoring, utility management, and V2X. The long-promised “self-driving car” can work on a smart network amalgamating it with traffic control system, telling it when to stop and go without the need for human intervention and it helps to let it communicate the cars to other cars to reduce the traffic war on the roads.
5g in farms
The 5g can take the technology at another level in the mobiles and talking specifically, it will help the farms to be smart enough to do everything on their own from plowing to harvesting. There will be many sensors for making the things work.
Soil and moisture sensor.
The soil and moisture sensor is the sensor which helps in measuring the moisture level in the crops and soil. It will help in detecting the presence of extra level which has been supplied. The production of the plant is largely dependent on the moisture of the soil as it helps in their nourishment and for their growth.
This sensor measures the level of the co 2 in the air in which soil is present as there should a normal level of co2 for the better growth of the plant because the extra level of the causes the plants to decay. There should be a proper supply of co2 in the air and the soil to keep a proper balance. This sensor measures the level of co2 and sends it to the main computer so that the farmer could monitor it.
Weather observation system
The main system here is this system as it keeps a record on the weather and transmits all the data to the main computer so that the farmer could grow proper plants in the proper weather. The weather observation system takes the data from the satellite for accurate data. The weather observation system can also monitor the ripe crops from the helium-filled balloon and it will send the data to the main system for the farmer to see and take further steps.
The ph sensor measures the level of the ph in the soil as it helps to know the alkalinity of the soil so that based on that alkalinity, the farmer could sow the plants. The ph sensor can tell that how much basic or acidic, the soil is so the plats which prefer the acidic medium can be sown in soil and the plants which prefer the basic medium can be sown.
The overall result of the 5g on the farms is that it will reduce the burden on the farmer by making all the tasks automated. This plan has a long way to go to come to India as this includes costly sensors as the farmers may not be able to afford but we could see this in the future when this system will be easy to buy and setup. We could see these technologies in India by 2025.
